I've posted the main chunk here, but if anyone here can figure this out I'd be very grateful.

uninstall the vid drivers as best as u can.
go in to system propertys and uninstall ur video card.
hit scan for changes to make it come back up.
Install latest drivers for card that you know work. See if it helps

It's a laptop Anakin, there's *special* procedures to get the latest drivers working.

latest official driver for my laptop graphics card is like 7.10 or something, when the current version is 9.3 - OEM restricts ATI from producing drivers for Mobility series (laptop cards) - this means you have to mod the newer drivers to work on the laptop cards.

And yeah I've stripped the driver as best I can but every time I try to install the modded driver it comes up saying it couldn't install -.-

sorry to hear man. May have to get a diff type vid card. Maybe u have blown ur old one slightly. Its not working properly. I have found that the last 2 detonator drivers wont install on my pc. At least i always keep ones that work so its running properly just with a late 08 version. Even with new os installed from a format it wouldnt install. might try the british version. seems to be a lot bigger

jubis did you make sure you downloaded the right version. i had a problem where when i downloaded the driver update for mine it would not install, all because i had English (US) instead of English (UK). the difference? i have no clue

AFAIK ATI only release en_us versions of their drivers, as the other versions on the page are in the 'asian' regions, which of course I don't want to install.
