Hosting

OK, basically, the links to the Hosting page and Servers page are broken, dunno if you knew this or not, but thats why I'm posting here.

Why I'm posting:

1) Not happy with my current webhost.
2) Will be wanting to purchase a game server, most likely for CoD: BlackOps.
3) Want a TS3 server
4) Want a website

I can take care of all of the administration of all these things, I just need a 'host' and since I know Julian, and have been a member of [AoE] I have known about TheLanBox for a long time, so I was wondering if you could help me out a bit here Mr. Blaknite...

Why I am unhappy with my current host:

1) I am not allowed full access.
2) No background programs (like teamspeak) are allowed to run.
3) They are charging me $10/month for LIMITED ACCESS to the server I pay for.

Why I am telling you this:
Because I want you to know that this is why I am unhappy, and thus, you can tell me straight out; Yes, I will let you have full access and you can run things like ts3 and CoD: BlackOps on this server; or No, Go away.

I am a 16yr old student so my income is low, (I do understand a lot about IT though), and I am looking for a reasonable price range.

I'm hoping to be able to see this through with you blaknite.....

Thanks,
Zachary ~ z`unit.

P.S. ~ If you have anything you want to ask me, outside of the 'public eye', you can add my steam st4mp3d3 my xFire: blacksc0rpian (Yes, I know its spelt wrong I made it over 3years ago) or you can email me : zunitMOD@gmail.com

P.S.(2) ~ Let me just clear up what I meant by 'full access'. They would not give me SHH access, used for programs like PuTTY.exe - I'm sure you know of it, since you set up your TS3 client on a Linux system. Maybe you used a different way, but this is the way I know how to do it, and by not letting me use this, they are not giving me 'full access' to something I pay for, this I think is not how it should be?

sorry mate. Lanbox is no longer a business. Blak has sold up. This server runs locally for communication purposes of a few friends

lol AoE were paying $70 a month for a 12-slot CoD4/CoD5 (switchable) server with TS and FTP/Cmd access with QuadEye, sounds kinda like a pay-for-what-you-get? You should try QuadEye though, they might have something more in your budget :)

yeah, I'm that far out of the loop as far as LB goes I've only just seen this post. Like anakin said, I'm out of the business as far as server hosting goes but I can give you a few tips and point you in the right direction.

If your after full server access such as SSH etc and know enough to install your own web server and teamspeak then you may want to look at getting a Virtual Private Server. You can get em for about $20/month and you can do whatever the hell you want with it. That price gets you 1 core, 256MB ram and about 20GB bandwidth. More than enough for ts and a web server. My server I have at home is only a Intel Atom (same cpu as in most netbooks) and it runs all of the above plus more without breaking a sweat. Unless I'm torrenting it only uses about 150MB RAM.
