It's with great pleasure and excitement that I announce that the LANBox will be acquiring it's first dedicated server box. Running an Intel Quad Xeon and 4GB RAM this server will be providing the bulk of the LANBox's hosting power.Over the next two weeks I will be rolling out new servers across a wide range of games, new and old.
To begin with I will be transferring the current Garry's Mod servers to this box and increasing the size of all the G-Mod servers to 8 slots. I will then begin rolling out servers for Counter-Strike: Source, Call of Duty 4 and Team Fortress 2. I will also be moving the Teamspeak server to this box.

Those of you who regularly visit other forums and blogs will notice the recent influx of 'Share on Facebook' links popping up around the place and the LANBox is no different. Just click on the 'Share on Facebook' links at the top and bottom of the topic pages in the forum or at the bottom of the news posts on the main site to share the LANBox with all your Facebook friends.
Not only is this a great way to let your friends in on what your thinking, but it will also help promote the LANBox and allow us to continue and grow.

Here is my chance to rage about a little program that anyone with an iPod or Iphone hates with a passion, iTunes, or iFail as i prefer to call it.
My problem is not with the program itself but the way that Apple has implemented the syncing with a new or freshly formatted PC. I was enjoying my iPhone and how simple it was to sync everything to it until I decided to do a format and install Windows 7. After a few weeks I decided that it would be a good idea to sync my contacts again with Outlook as I had only a few contacts on my PC and all of them on my iPhone. This is where the rage starts to kick in. Instead of doing a merger automatically iTunes decides that because I have little to no contacts on my PC that it must mean I want to remove the contacts off of my phone and preceeds to remove nearly 200 contacts of friends and work aquaintences.

I've been wanting to run a competition with actual prizes for a long time now and never really had the chance to do so. Well the time and come and I've got a brand new copy of Stargate: The Ark of Truth to give away along with some other goodies.
All you have to do to win is post your own custom Stargate scene, be it hand-drawn, photoshopped or just made in paint.

In accordance with the blaknite code of boredom I must make changes to the website that are unnecessary yet oh so amusing.
The first of these changes is the adoption of an official leadership/governmental policy for the LANBox. We are now officially a Feudalistic Monarchy. To further support this change I have created a Court in which you, my knights, can gather and talk about things such as swallows and coconuts. This Court has been officially dubbed 'The Court of Spam-A-Lot.

The LANBox Garry's Mod servers have gone off-line today due to an unknown fault. I have been assured they will be up as soon as possible.
Please hang tight as the problem is rectified.

The tools included with Garry's Mod are quite thorough and comprehensive, however there are a few areas for improvement. This is where 3rd party tool add-ons come in handy. Garry's Mod being the community driven game it is, has many tools that have been scripted by players to suit their needs. In this article I will be discussing some of my favourites, all of which are on the BuildBox.
The tools that I find most useful for building contraptions are weight, smart-weld, no-collide-multi, buoyancy, fin and easy precision.

The LANBox is proud to announce it's latest addition to it's Garry's Mod server line-up - The SPAMBox. This server is designed to be a place where mingebags and adminges alike can release their spamming and destructive urges while not infringing on the other servers here at the LANBox. All admin mods, prop-protection and spam protection will be removed from this server along with PvP damage being enabled to allow players to wreak as much havoc as possible.
Along with this new server a new forum of the same name and purpose will be introduced. This forum will be a place for members to post spam to their hearts content. This forum will not be moderated. The ShoutBox will also be renamed to the SPAMBox.
